Ozburger ("we," "us," "our") operates oz-burger.com and our restaurant at 1344 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009. This policy explains what information we collect when you order online, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Order information you give us: name, email address, phone number, the items you order, pickup time, and any notes you add.
- Payment information: your card details are entered directly into a secure form hosted by Square, our payment processor. Card numbers are never stored on our servers.
- Marketing consent: if you check the optional box at checkout, we record that you agreed, when you agreed, and the exact wording you agreed to.
- Usage information collected automatically: pages viewed, clicks, device and browser type, approximate location (from IP address), and referral source. We collect this using Google Analytics and Lucky Orange, which use cookies and similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To prepare, process, and hand off your pickup order.
- To send you transactional messages about your order (confirmation, receipt, "your order is ready"). These are not marketing and are sent regardless of your marketing choices.
- To send you promotions, offers, and news only if you opted in at checkout.
- To understand how our site is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. Email and Text (SMS) Marketing
Your consent is optional and is never a condition of purchase. You can place an order without agreeing to receive marketing messages.
If you opt in, we may send you promotional emails and text messages about Ozburger offers. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies.
- To stop text messages: reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
- To stop emails: click "unsubscribe" in any marketing email, or email us at the address below.
We honor opt-out requests promptly. Even after you opt out, we may still send you messages that relate directly to an order you placed.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We do share information with service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can perform services for us:
- Square — payment processing and order management
- Supabase — secure database hosting
- Netlify — website hosting
- Resend — sending order emails
- Google Analytics, Google Ads, Lucky Orange — website analytics and advertising measurement
- DoorDash — only if you choose delivery; you leave our site and their privacy policy applies
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as well if you do. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common standard for how to respond, our site does not currently respond to those signals.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop sending you marketing messages

7. Data Retention and Security
We keep order records as long as needed for business, tax, and legal purposes. Marketing consent records are kept as long as you remain subscribed, and afterward as proof that consent was given. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date above.
